Florida Poker Doesn't Get Bigger Than the Next Two Weeks
The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open gets underway this week in Hollywood and runs through August 11, the largest tournament series in the state all year. Two events anchor it. The $400 Deep Stack carries a $1,000,000 guarantee across eight starting flights, 20,000 chips and late registration through Level 9, one of the best guarantee-to-buy-in ratios you will find anywhere in 2026. Then the $5,300 Championship plays on August 7 for a $3,000,000 guarantee, 50,000 starting chips and hour-long levels.
What makes this August different is everything happening around it. One Eyed Jacks in Sarasota runs its Summer Showdown with a $1,120 Main Event for $250,000, six starting flights from August 14. Seminole Hard Rock Tampa has its own $400 DeepStack for $100,000 the same week SHRPO is finishing. And just up the coast the WSOP Circuit lands at Harrah's Atlantic City on August 13 with a $1,700 Main Event for $600,000. Between them, that is the busiest stretch of tournament poker in the East this summer, and it is all on the site with structures attached.

Gold Rings Are Coming to the Jersey Shore
Atlantic City's summer is not slowing down. As Borgata wraps its Summer Poker Open, the WSOP Circuit rolls into Harrah's Atlantic City from August 13 through 24 with 26 gold-ring events. The $1,700 Main Event headlines at $600,000 guaranteed, 40,000 starting chips and hour-long levels late, with Day 1A on August 20. A $400 Mini Main opens the festival for $300,000, and a $2,200 High Roller closes it out.
The best part for planners: the full schedule and every structure sheet just posted, so you can see the starting stack, level length and late-reg cutoff on all 26 events before you make the drive. It is the second straight month of major poker on the shore, and the whole slate is on the site today.

Borgata Summer Poker Open · a first in the series
Li Liang, a New Jersey regular, won the $650 Super Deep 6-Max out of 401 entries for $41,150, becoming the first female champion in the history of the Borgata Summer Poker Open. The win more than doubled her lifetime live tournament earnings.
Maurice Hawkins · a record 26th ring
Poker's all-time WSOP Circuit ring leader stretched his record again, winning the $1,100 mini main event at WSOP Circuit Choctaw out of 400 entries for $76,380. It was his fifth ring of 2026 and pushed his career total to 26, a six-ring lead over the nearest player.
Worth Knowing
- The poker world lost Mark Davis this week. The Alabama pro, 46, died July 25 after a series of strokes. In 2022 he won the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown for $1,000,000, denying Darren Elias a record fifth WPT title, the same room now hosting SHRPO. He was a three-time WSOP Circuit ring winner and, by every account, a beloved member of the community.
- Atlantic City's Summer Poker Open wraps this week. Borgata closes the series July 31, and the room then goes dark until the Fall Poker Open in November, so the tables you see there now are the last until then.
